Summer 2022 Update!

Hello everyone! Today is a quick write-up on a few things I wanted to discuss. Since It’s not a “real” article, I’ll make it up to all of you in the next few weeks with an extra bike check or something along these lines. Truth be told, I’ve been extra busy with non-cycling-related matters and I basically ran out of content way faster than I thought.

I want to share a few numbers from the podcast and blog since SSS is officially one year old! I truly find amazing the awesome community we were able to create in such a short amount of time!

On top of that, we’ve recently reached a new phase with significantly more interactions between us (Rob, Fabian, and I) and all of you guys!

Anyways, here is a few numbers that you might find interesting after a year of blogging and podcasting:

This year:

  • You’ve been over 8000 to check the SSS blog, cumulating a total of 25000 visits.

  • We released over 50 podcast episodes adding up to 35000 streams if you add up every platform, AND Spotify (because they work with a different API)

  • We’ve easily crossed the 100+ hours of content released if you include the extended version and Patreon exclusive content like Track Bike Chronicles

  • 4.9 out of 5 stars on Spotify! We’re happy with that!

  • I (Paul) shot over 30 rolls of film for the SSS blog

  • Finally, I personally sent over 120 monthly envelopes full of stickers, patches, and prints.

A big thank you to all of you that are making this possible!

It seems like everybody got used to the new rhythm of two episodes a month (plus one extra for our Patrons) and believe me when it makes a huge difference for us!
It gives us extra time for research but also recharging our “host and co-host batteries” so we can give 110% on every show.

On another note!

If you’re a listener of the podcast you probably know that I’ve been planning to go work far east in the country of the rising sun and mandatory brakes.

Well, we’ve never been so close because my flight is on the 20th and I am super excited to be able to share, with all of you and in way more detail, the fixed-gear scene over there.

You can look forward to new content, awesome bike checks, and a number of places I’d like to write about here.

On top of that, I recently acquired some video equipment. Wait! This does not mean I’m gonna start a youtube career just yet. I know my way around photography and learned audio with the SSS podcast, but I have still no experience with video whatsoever.

I will take my time to make something that I feel confident to release out there. You can be sure it’s gonna happen, just give me the time to figure it out.

That’s it, folks! I’m genuinely pumped for what the next few months are gonna give us! Stay real, stay out there and see you next time!
