Your 2022 Top Five Blog-posts

Yes, sometimes I look at the stats… Especially while we’re transitioning to yet another year, and I guess I just wanted to know….
Today’s question is: What did everyone read the most in the Slow Spin Society blog this year? A quick dive in the analytics, and I was able to sort out your Top 5 for 2022!

Brooklyn Machine Works and Wbase's Love Story

During my trip to Japan, I had to visit my old workplace. I wanted to introduce Wbase as something else than just a shop, because it is so much more than that. And with the semi-recent re-release of the Gangsta, creating an article around the relationship between Wbase and Brooklyn Machine Works, was the appealing angle I was looking for.

Kang Did It Again….

At this point, you probably know who Kang is and what he does. This summer, we shot his latest project while it was still free of paint. On another note, everyone at SSS is really looking forward to Kang’s new workshop in 2023. Great things might come out of there. Who knows….

Bike Check: Tommy’s 2006 Bianchi Pista Concept

It’s no secret that we love the Pista Concept here at SSS. Good to know that Tommy has three of them and was down to shoot one during my summer trip. And you might see him again in another bike-check soon enough. Real people build real bikes, we all know that by now.

Bike Check: Karl’s Colnago Dream Pista

Another bike-check that picked your interest this year was Karl’s Colnago. If you haven't been living under a rock for the past four or five years, you probably know who Karl is and how he is mastering the “clean track bike” aesthetic. You can also find the podcast we did with him just —> here

Self Bike Check: The Parakino (Year 0)

Finally, I’m honored to see that you enjoyed a personal project of mine. The Parakino is still alive and well! Dallying it and taking it on trips around Europe, it’s slowly aging and evolving in the best way possible. Still not sure if I’ll make an update for Year One or if I should wait a bit longer. The answer in 2023!

As always, we want to thank all of you readers, but also everyone who is supporting Slow Spin Society happen in any manner. There is as always a lot in the works, and it’s probably only a matter of time and organization.

Let’s make the best out of 2023!
