Matthew Richardson drama, Disco bike by Schön Studio, and MADE rumors

Matthew Richardson could face a 2 years ban after his recent decision.

Matthew Richardson, an Australian track cyclist and triple Olympic medalist, has shocked the cycling world by defecting to Great Britain. I wasn’t really planning to cover that story, but this is getting extra juicy so here we go! This move could result in a two-year competition ban under UCI regulations, as Australia’s cycling authorities explore whether to enforce this clause. Richardson kept his defection secret while still competing for Australia at the Paris Olympics, a decision that has left his former teammates feeling blindsided and betrayed. The switch also coincides with his relationship with British cyclist Emma Finucane, which reportedly influenced his decision.

Schön Studio’s Disco bike winning 2024 Made Show People’s Choice Award!

I mean, look at it! It’s perfect! with two wheel steering, a serious amount of bling, and a general vibe making you want to do your best Travolta impression, it’s almost obvious that the disco bike won the 2024 Made Show People’s Choice Award.

Thomson and Ritchey respectively working on new Track Bikes.

User u/huey_cobra on Reddit was at MADE last weekend and posted some new trackbikes from Thomson and Ritchey. Not much info is known, but they both look like steel frames. The Ritchey is looking very close from its road cousin, the Logic. (Maybe a version with the same coupler system could be a thing?) For the Thomson one… I have my doubts… It looks like steel, but we’ve known Thomson for making Titanium frames in the past… Only time will tell.
