We’re venturing into a big one today because the Cinelli Mash Parallax truly had a cultural impact on riders and the scene that can’t be overlooked. It is by far the bike I’ve spent the most time on, and one that many other companies have tried to replicate over the years.
Built in Taiwan but with Italian roots, the Parallax is made from Columbus “Airplane” aluminum tubing and comes with a custom Columbus carbon fork with an aluminum steerer. The welds are smoothed out using the Italian equivalent of bondo, all hidden under a thick coat of paint and decals that form the iconic design across the four variants of this frame.

Versatility 7/10
Handling and comfort 9/10
The Cinelli Mash Parallax is often praised for its “perfect geometry.” Of course, that depends on your definition of perfect. Even though people say the Parallax was designed as a criterium machine, this bike really belongs to the streets. Its incredible nimbleness in traffic, fast acceleration, short wheelbase, and now-legendary 28 mm rake fork make it feel right at home in an dense traffic areas.
That also means the Parallax comes with fairly significant toe overlap and a geometry that constantly pushes you to accelerate rather than simply maintain a steady pace. But to me, it truly is the ultimate party bike.
People have also been building tracklocross setups with it—you can check them out here ➡️ Convert any Fixed-Gear to a Tracklocross shredder.

Used Market 8/10
The Cinelli Mash Parallax frames were expensive, and they tend to hold their value quite well, even after more than a decade. That said, it’s not too hard to find one on the used market, as not everyone can live with the massive toe overlap. If you’re looking for a newer option, Mash SF later released the AC series, which shares a very similar spirit.
SSS Factor 10/10
On top of the massive cultural impact, there is a reason why everyone is loving this geometry and the way this bike handles.
