August’s Newsletter

And just like that… it’s over. Two months of chilling under the blazing sun and riding like September would never come.
I am not gonna lie to you. Even if it was a surprisingly productive summer with behind the scene projects, a new co-host, and a great learning experience on how to mix traveling, podcasting, blogging and working at the same time. It was also full of typos, editing mistakes and delayed stuff.
We’ll do better next time. Hang in there.

Let’s talk about the podcast real quick because we have more important matter today.
First this month was episode 62 with a big Q&A that extended all the way into the aftershow. It was a great opportunity to know Amanda a bit more and episodes like this always end up being full of fun, rants, and other shenanigans.
Episode 63 is all about the incredible story of Nelson Vails! From his humble beginnings to the Olympics, this New York messenger went all-in to become an American Hero overnight.

This month’s Patreon Special Episode was some sort of improvised recording between Rob and Paul. Talking about the recent incidents at the Common Wealth Games, Squid’s new prototype, and a few other subjects that the boys had in mind.
As always, a big thank you to all our supporters making this show possible!

You are all awesome!

There are some bicycle creations in this world that deserves to be shown to the world. This is exactly what Paul decided to do when he went in the middle of nowhere Japan to shoot that private collection. So serious eye candy if you haven’t seen this one yet.
And so we arrive at this month’s bike check! I had to include this one before the summer ends. Warm colors, fresh vibe and killer bike, could you really ask for more?

BUT WAIT! THER IS MORE!

BUT WAIT! THER IS MORE!

(Paul here) I’ve been cooking up a number of concepts for some new content on the blog during this summer. One revolving purely around gears, the other is all about you!
Yes that right! I’d like to introduce you to the SSS Reader’s Journal!

Our favorite thing about SSS is its community, we’ve seen many projects, bikes, events, and adventures from our fellow members through various media.
But what about sharing it with a wider audience?

Well, here comes the SSS Reader’s Journal!

Are you building your own frame, modding some parts, going to beautiful places with your fixed gear bike, following a special training for the next track days, doing custom paint jobs? Or, maybe you just have an interesting story you want to share! Anything goes! We would love to relay it for you, as long as you have good quality pictures, and an interesting subject, it’s all good!

We’ll select a few and introduce them in a common article to show every reader, that you just need a bit of motivation to start amazing trips, or fascinating endeavors around fixed gear. Sharing that kind of incentive is the best way to show more of our passion and get even more people inspired to create/experience new things.

If you like writing, drawing, filming, shooting pictures, or crating things? Share it with us, because people deserve to see it!

You can summit your Google doc at this address→ slowspinsociety@gmail.com

PS:If you don’t like to write or have difficulty doing so, we can go over it on a call.

Film was not enough, we’re gonna film on tape now….
