August’s Newsletter

Want to start your month off right?! It's time for the SSS newsletter! Where you can catch up on any missed content or just enjoy it for the second or third time, like a good film.

Stuff to Listen to…

Its been a busy month once again however, starting the month off right we had the Q and A session where we delved into 26 inch vs modern mountain biking and more importantly how to barter with Paul's online store. The whole gang was in London for the GAL ( Great Alleycat) and recorded with some long term supporters of the podcast in the community episode where the differences between the fixed scenes of London, Berlin and Paris were discussed. As well as a lot of talk about the fantastic, Great Alleycat of London. Finally, the “everything but official” SSS buying guide is back for the personal choices of the Slow Spin team this year.

The wheelhouse sisters had a fantastic time in London and had the chance to speak and interact with so many amazing female racers and riders. They even got the chance to sit down and speak with Valentina and Sophia who are arguably the strongest female fixed riders in the UK. They discussed their journeys into fixed gear and how inclusive the London scene is, as well as some talk about how to encourage more women to take part in alleycats and other events within the scene.

This month’s Patreon Special episode is a small boys talk about the plans Paul and Rob have for the SSS business and how to ensure financing for the direction in which they want to take the SSS business and its subdivisions. One thing for sure is to definitely not ask Paul or Rob for crypto advice

As usual, all our Patreon supporters get access to the entirety of the content we put online every week, but also to some physical goods for our top tier members.

Some Stuff to Read

This month's blog post articles feature the crazy tracklonot of Nobu’s conversion into the fixed tracklocross world. The bike features some seriously clever parts to make the impossible possible whilst not only looking good, it works extremely well. Paul managed to squeeze out a tasty article talking about the infamous Mash Travel bag, taking it from Japan to Europe and even to the great US of A, the bag proved to be well worth the purchase. If you want to see some cool film shots of all of the above head over to the blog section and take a read.
