May’s Newsletter

Time to see everything that happened this month on SSS.com. You might have seen the new home page and some other improvement on the website structure, but we’re to talk about content! So let’s see what we’ve cooked for you last month!

Stuff to Listen to…

Three episodes this month, starting with a very fun one on our traditional “game” format. Episode 81 is all about wacky dilemmas that we would hypothetically impose ourselves. But we all know the best part is just the general banter between us.

Next is a weird one. What we released is the recording of one of our Patreon Special Episode from April 2023. We did record what was supposed to be episode 82, but audio problems and bad scheduling made all of this somewhat extremely difficult. We did manage to save as much as possible of the original recording, but it wouldn’t make sense as a real episode. It is on our Patreon as extra content for this episode, since the recording was still filled with good jokes and funny moments.

Finally, we dived into some serious stuff by asking our resident crit racer about how beginners would start racing in the frightening world of fixed gear criteriums.

The second episode of the Wheelhouse Sisters Podcast is out! This month, Amanda and Christine had the pleasure to talk with number two and three of this year’s RadRace Last Wo/Man Standing. Melissa Martucci and Thelma were on the show to share their experience on one of the gnarliest fixed gear criterium and how they got there.

This month’s Patreon Special episode is a video! Yes! This is our first test work as the very unofficial SSS video studio.
In this episode, you’ll see Rob and Amanda getting their very first taste of skateboarding and why staying on a bike might be their best bet for now.

As usual, all our Patreon supporters get access to the entirety of the content we put online every week, but also to some physical goods for our top tier members.

Some Stuff to Read

The final article about RRLWMS is finally online, and if you weren’t around this tear, we sure hope to see you in 2024! Taking all of this on film was no easy task, but I (Paul) some who made it work, with some good pictures coming out of it.

And here is this month bike-check with Tommy’s Mash Lava. Another Japanese build with some serious bits to it. Anniversary Philwood hubs, limited edition bars, all the big business. And it’s already there for you to check out!

One more thing!

As Summer is slowly rolling up on us, we have decided to re-introduce the monthly challenges for the hot season! Every detail can be found on our Discord Server. Good Luck!

Here it is… the end of the roll.
