Trash Mash Parallax 2014 by Beckham
Description: This is a very special bike to me, I initially built up a really banged up cinelli mash lax but in charcoal (fixed gear discord members remember it). Sold it and I regretted it.
Took me forever to find one that was essentially NOS and for a steal!
All these parts have a story that i'll tell. I honestly think it's an amazing bike and one im excited to ride for the years coming.
Frame/Fork/Headset: Cinelli Mash Parallax 2014. Frame came from a messenger in Indianapolis who recently stopped. It was cool because he had every single mash - cinelli collab and all the original boxes too, including the one for the lax.
Crankset/Bottom Bracket: Vision Metron Track Cranks 165mm. Got these in a trade, the spindle was fucked up as you could see, but previously there was only a little notching. These used to be on my velodrome bike but the etching of the spindle got super bad I can hear it while riding so now they're my beaters (hence the silly sticker).
Pedals/Straps: Speedplay pedals. Hand-me-down from my dad who bought a bunch of bike stuff and never rode. Basically stole these, thanks! The toe overlap is insanely bad. Normally I use leather straps on platform pedals, just because I have a tendency to break nylon straps, even the nice ones.
Cog/Chainring: Miche 50T chainring, random chinese 17T cog. Miche chainring was really cheap from track labs and I wanted to try out a bigger ratio for daily use. The cog was from a wheelset I was gifted, honestly I have a tendency to bend these cogs but it hasn't happened yet.
Handlebars/Stem: Unknown Handlebars and steel 110mm 15 degree stem I obtained from the parts bin from the LBS in town. The handlebars were from a charity shop I worked at, honestly amazing bars.
Saddle/Seatpost: Thomson Elite 27.2 zero-setback seatpost and a random selle italia dupe. Traded with that same messenger from Mexico. That dude had some sick builds like his Trek TK1. Seat is my roommates that he gave to me. We usually buy a bunch of cheap saddles off of ali that are dupes and then buy the real thing when we like it.
Front Wheel/Hub/Tire: Mavic open pro rim laced to a DA 7600 hub. Front Tire is a panaracer pasela that I bought because the roads get super slick in the winter (my friend ate shit because of bad tires so I got fearmongered). The rim was custom made in mexico for a bike messenger I traded with.
Rear Wheel/Hub/Tire: H Plus Son Archetype laced to Grand Compe II and Chao Yang Special. Me and my roommate always loved buying cheap ass tires from chao yang, until the tarriffs hit :(((. Wheel is from retrogression, instantly came out of true somehow when I initially bought it lol.
