December/January’s Newsletter

Hello everyone!

We’re back at work after two months of still producing content, but way more chill. We’ve already said it countless times, but we’re really excited about the year to come, and all the little side projects coming with it.
Hopefully more video content, more carious podcasting, some real events and other things that we’ve discussed while spending Christmas together.

Stuff to Listen to…

If you’ve been busy for the last two months, you know have four more episodes to listen to get back to our pace.

Starting with episode 71 with @jbvll, where we took some FGFS history class. Having a literal encyclopedia of a mind, Johnathan was kind enough to educate us about FGFS, and how this niche of a niche, is one of the richest subculture in fixed gear cycling.

Episode 72 was our (now) traditional Christmas Special! This episode of just casual talking and remembering what 2022 was made of, is also fully available for everyone! That means extended version included, a little Xmas gift for you guys!

Episode 73 is our first episode of 2023, even if we did record it late December. Amanda and I (Paul), flew to London to spent Christmas with Rob, and we took the opportunity to record this episode all together!

Finally, episode 74 is our personal wish list for the year to come. More parts, more colors, more girls on bikes, all the good stuff! Can’t say more, you’ll have to listen…

This month Patreon special is probably one of the dumbest idea we had in quite sometimes. We decided to film our reactions while watching the entirety of the legendary 1986 movie: QUICKSILVER!

You thought that movie was good? Well, think again because we went hard on that one. Nothing makes ANY SENSE! WHY?

Some Stuff to Read

I have to be fully honest here. The weather, and therefor the light, haven’t been the best this winter. I haven’t shot that many rolls to illustrate some very good articles in the bags. You know how we do things here: film photography is a process, and good things take time.

But for December I wanted to put two bike-checks back to back, just because they are meant to go together. Two KHS Aero Track, one in blue, one in silver, of my favorite Japanese couple. Takuho and Maki made me discover a part of Japan I knew nothing about, and on track bikes to make it even better!

In January, I decided to look at the stats to see what was your Top five for 2022. I can see that everyone is really into bike-checks, and I get that! Me too…

Finally, this year’s real first write up is about Christian’s legendary Parallax. Call it what ever you want, a beater, a rat bike, a hip-hop slave bike, but this thing is still standing against all odds.

One more thing!

We also released the third episode of Deep Dish Discussion! David And I went through the new UCI rule for 2023, as well as some interesting new gears from various track brands.

I hope everyone enjoyed this year of content! As usual, we’re all taking holidays for the end of the year, so no Newsletter next month!
Can’t wait for what’s 2023 has for us
