Thank you for subscribing!

Welcome to the very first monthly newsletter for the Slow Spin Society blog and podcast. Here you'll find everything that happened in the past month with some extra content (pictures, routes, playlists, and more....)! If you’re reading this on the website you can subscribe here!

We're recording!

This is happening! We just released the first batch of episodes and we are still figuring out all the mic settings, audio mixing, and a ton of other parameters to make the podcast as enjoyable as possible for you listeners! This month we talked about things like tracklocross, the hype behind some bike parts, or even how to slowly get into tricks with @cairnsy.co. Every four weeks we have our Q&A episode, and these are the questions we answered this time:

  1. What do you wish you had known when you first started riding fixed?

  2. What are some missed opportunities, rides, deals, and connections you’ve experienced?

  3. Do you have any tips for new fixed-gear riders?

  4. What do you think about riding alone vs group rides and community events?

  5. If you could only ride one bike for the rest of your life, which one would it be?

  6. Riding brakeless, how would you define your tempo through traffic?

We also made a big announcement this month! We introduced our Patreon where listeners can support us financially to help cover costs, such as web and podcast costs, including proper microphones, software licenses, and so on. Both of us truly appreciate all of the positive feedback and recognition we have received via emails, Instagram messages and through Discord and this is just another (completely optional) way to further support us!

Pledging at the lowest tier of the Patreon will give you access to the extended cut version of the show with the pre and after show. These add around 40 minutes of extra content per episode/week.

But I'm also writing

On the website, you can find the articles I share every Wednesday morning. This month: An adventure, two bike checks, and a little guide on how to ride your fixed gear bike when you're in a group of roadies. All the pictures you can see are taken on film with various cameras. I mostly use my Nikon F100 along with a Nikon 35Ti.

I've been shooting strictly film for almost two years now and I can finally see some results. Getting a good picture through your entire roll is a huge satisfaction and I'm starting to like what I take every time there is an opportunity for a great shot.

I'm so proud of every bit of work published on the website. Receiving feedback on social networks or by mail is also a warming feeling that gives us the motivation to always improve and create more. Thank you for following us. On that note, I will let you in on the pic of this month.... See you in April 😎
