Where. Is. The. Real. Summer!?

Excuse me, sir, but I only see a lot of rain, especially here in Europe. Hopefully, it’s not Europe everywhere and everybody is able to enjoy some quality time outside. This month has been filled up with adventures, good vibes, and funny podcast moments. We also have some good news to share with all of you, so let’s get to it, shall we!

Episode 25 is out and we’re slowly but surely seeing the podcast grow and improve. It’s been an amazing month talking with not one but two guests: Rob ‘Cairnsy’ Cairns of FxD.BLN came back on the show to discuss his latest project with us and Leo Rodgers was also here on episode 23. Leo is, for us and probably everyone who knows him, a great source of inspiration and motivation to push on forward and further than before. You can do it. We can do it. Just climb on your bike and ride - There isn’t much more to it! Finally, episode 22 was quite different than our usual format but we were happy and moved by the incredible yet so sad story of Marshall “Major” Taylor.

We reached our first goal!

It’s a big milestone for us! Only half a year later and we’ve already blasted past our first Patreon funding goal! The generous help from all of you allows us to cover the costs of editing software subscriptions, web hosting, content production, and the rewards! Now we’re able to enter the next phase of SSS and set up a new goal that will allow us to develop SSS even further.

As part of reaching our first goal, we are proud to announce monthly community-focused challenges for everyone! Each month we will be sharing two cycling-related challenges - one easy and one more difficult. Completing these challenges will earn non-Patreons and Level 1 Patreons a nifty Discord title to show off, while Level 2 and 3 Patreons will receive the titles, a podcast and Discord shoutout, and a social media plug! Finally, these Patreons can also win a special reward for every six challenges they complete! As we discussed in the Q&A episode, we are also working on a new project for this fall, so keep your eyes peeled for that one.

Finally, we are introducing our next funding goal. This amount will enable us to improve the overall quality of the podcast, such as audio quality, communication, advertisement on social media, and more. Importantly, with this goal met, we can invest more time in creating and producing SSS products, such as apparel and fixed-gear related products. 😉

Again, thank you so much for your support!

Here is the print our top-tier patrons received, along with some stickers (which we are keeping secret still). All our Patreons got access to three and a half hours of extra content this month, perfect to keep you occupied during those long road trips.

Some Nice Colors

Finally, you’ll find one of my favorite trips this year on the blog! A few days in the Bardenas Reales badlands in Spain, riding my bike along with Ella and Fanny. Taking a fixed-gear for a bikepacking trip is already an interesting idea, but taking it to the middle of the desert, in full gravel mode, was one of the coolest moments I had on my bike in quite a while.

The other write-up this month is a bike check of my friend Cedric’s eccentric build. It’s a crazy mix between a Dolan Pre Cursa, an All-City Nature Boy, and the holy spirit of Klein. Tons of details for you to look at along with a healthy dose of inspiration.

Six months, 25 episodes and hundreds of hours later, we’re still driven to keep the SSS spirit alive! We’ve got some good momentum and hearing feedback from all of you is a definite motivator to produce even better content in the future! Thanks for listening and subscribing to the newsletter! Over and out,

Paul and Fabian/SSS

Here is one last picture for this month, see you in September! 🏫
