June’s Recap!

Hello everyone,

Europe has been burning lately, and I hope you’re all doing okay. It’s been pretty intense on my side too, both in real life (I’m literally sweating while writing this) and on the website. As you may have noticed, there’s been a lot happening this month.

We recently released an article explaining our new release schedule (➡️ SSS Summer Schedule Update & Stratos x BSBC Bike Gallery ), which has already started. That’s also why June felt a bit chaotic, but don’t worry, things are always somewhat under control, and we usually have at least a 70% idea of what we’re doing.

I hope you’re all enjoying the summer, staying hydrated, and finding some shade when needed. This month, you’ll also be able to catch me at “Alt d’Huez” organized by La Chouette. There are still a few tickets available, so don’t miss out.

As usual, I also want to take a moment to thank everyone who took out a membership or made a donation through Buy Me a Coffee. Thank you for keeping SSS alive!

On Slow Spin Society This Month:

So without further ado, let’s get into what happened on SSS this past month!

Starting with a video this month and a slightly different kind of bike check this time, mixing photography and cycling in the way SSS does best. Shot with a Nikon F100 and centered around a Weis Gravel Plus, this one is as much about the images and atmosphere as it is about the bike itself.

Back to the BSBC x Stratos project, and this second chapter really feels like things are starting to click into place. Built Right the First Time follows the project as it gets closer and closer to the complete picture, with all the right ingredients for something special.

Another dispatch from Bespoked, and this one brings together Ron’s Bikes, Medusa Cycles, and Sentient Works. Three very different approaches, but exactly the kind of mix that makes digging through a show like this so much fun.

A compact video feature this time, with Provit.hk and Rolf Prima stepping into the frame. Projects like this keep expanding what SSS can look like, and it is always nice to see film, motion, and cycling keep crossing paths here.

The Bespoked coverage kept rolling with another trio worth paying attention to: Medusa Cycles, Clandestine, and Collins Cycle Works. By that point it was already clear that this year’s show had no shortage of great bikes but also plenty of interesting stories behind them.

With the return of long days and warm light, part of the Slow Spin team put together a selection of their summer essentials. A seasonal one for sure, but also the kind of piece that says a lot about the objects, tools, and little habits that shape riding when the weather gets good.

One more dispatch from Bespoked UK 2026, this time featuring Quirk, Pashley Cycles, and Condor. Between relaunches, refined classics, and the kind of bikes that reward a second look, this one had plenty to enjoy.

This one had been teased a little earlier in the month, and now the full review is finally here. The Rolf Prima Vigor FX got a proper torture test across Asia, which feels like exactly the kind of real-world use a wheelset like this deserves before anyone starts making claims about it.

And to wrap Bespoked UK, a special minivelo dispatch. From a full-suspension BMX concept by TJD Bikes to a wild Brompton-based build and a limited-edition Pashley Skyline fixie, this last one was playful, surprising, and honestly just a lot of fun to go through.

Finally, to wrap up June, we decided to show you our visit to the GOOSYNN factory. An interesting look into Chinese manufacturing and some very special wheels, featuring rope-spoke technology.

Of course, every article is up and live for you to enjoy wherever you are, enjoying the first picnic of this year or browsing for your next bike project.

Collective Take:

Curious to hear from you all! Where have you been riding lately? Any hidden gems, local loops, or must-ride spots we should know about? Always looking for new ideas and inspiration, so feel free to share your favorite routes.
But you know us! We’re not going to keep it for ourselves… So maybe we could do a list of routs? how would that sound?
