May’s Recap!
Hello everyone,
May has been full of adventures but also a lot of reflection, as we’re currently trying to figure out the best way to release all the content we already have lined up for the second half of the year. Some changes might start happening as early as July, but in the meantime, be ready for a particularly packed month of SSS content throughout June.
We’re also finally taking the time to work on a first merch release after seeing all your feedback and votes in last month’s Collective Take. A huge thank you to everyone who participated; it genuinely helps us understand where you’d like to see Slow Spin Society head and where we should focus our energy moving forward.
On a more personal note, you’ll probably be able to catch me at the Brother in the Wild event in Munich later this month and possibly at the Eurobike show in Frankfurt as well.
See you out there.
— Paul
As usual, I also want to take a moment to thank everyone who took out a membership or made a donation through Buy Me a Coffee. Thank you for keeping SSS alive!

On Slow Spin Society This Month:
So without further ado, let’s get into what happened on SSS this past month!
We’re getting closer and closer to a first preorder of the Randebzirk x SSS Minivelo. It does not have a name yet, but you can still vote and shape this true community project. A bike for the people by the people!
➡️ Compact Vision #3: First Prototypes
The first edition of the Crank event has been making waves on social media, as it’s been a giant melting pot of cycling and car culture. A bike show, car show, criterium, and gymkhana all in the same place?!

One more update on the Parakino after two years of silence, with finally some new parts and different bits. A few of them have already been replaced, but don’t worry, you'll see more of it very soon!
➡️ Self Bike Check: The Parakino (Year 4)
Now almost professional track bike reviewer at this point, So took the IIWII track bike out for a proper spin and came back a few months later to share his impressions and analysis of this unique frameset. But stay tuned, as this definitely won’t be our last project with the good people at IIWII.

Equilibrium is one of those rare brands that seems to exist in its own lane, building some of the most refined titanium frames in cycling today. I caught up with Vlad to hear the story behind the project, its evolution over the years, and the vision that continues to drive it forward.

This spring, Hayato went all in and took the top spot at Monster Track in New York. A few weeks later, I met him at his welcome-back party in Japan to talk about the race and the road that led to victory. Alongside the interview, Terry B. put together an edit using footage Hayato shot himself during the event!

How do you stand out in the already crowded world of custom bike bag makers? Is it the choice of fabrics, the attention to detail, or the ability to bring unique projects to life? In the case of my good friend George at Moga Bags, it's all of the above.
➡️ Moga Bags: Pushing the Envelope of Bikepacking Design
The first dispatch from Bespoked UK is finally here, featuring three of my favorite bikes from the show. Keep your eyes peeled, though, we've got plenty more coverage on the way, with more bikes, builders, and stories coming through over the next few weeks.

Of course, every article is up and live for you to enjoy wherever you are, enjoying the first picnic of this year or browsing for your next bike project.
Collective Take:
This month, we’d love to ask you one thing: where do you get your cycling news from? We’ve been noticing more and more of you clicking through and reading our News Rodeo articles, which we release three times a week, and we’re genuinely curious to hear what you think about them so far. Do you enjoy this faster-paced format? Are there topics, brands, events, or scenes you’d like us to cover more often? And more broadly, where do you usually keep up with what’s happening in the cycling world today?
As always, your feedback genuinely helps shape where Slow Spin Society goes next.
