March’s Newsletter

First things first, I want to share somewhat of an achievement. Getting a precise number is hard since podcasting relies on so many different platforms. BUT! I can confidently share that we crossed twenty thousand listens on the Slow Spin Society Podcast and that is just amazing. (That excludes Spotify since they use a completely different API and I have no idea how it works) Thank you to all of you who took the time to hear us ramble about how Sugino 75s are superior and how Rob is still not getting into 26” FGFS.

Two big Episodes this month! First with Rob, Fabian, and I! Reunited again for a show about traveling with your bike. With Fabian coming back from Singapore it was the perfect opportunity to get into the hassle of taking your bike on a plane. We shared our personal experiences as well as a few tips and tricks we found to make your travel as smooth as a velodrome!

Episode 52 was somewhat of a milestone. Very early on we dreamt about having Terry on the show and for some reason, it seemed almost unobtainable at the time to have such a well-known guest. But we did it! From camera gear to MTB trails we had a great conversation with terry. If you listen carefully, you might learn a thing or two, including how the first hotline was born.

You know it now, Patreon is the place to go if you want all of that juicy extra content. But not only! This month’s TBC podcast (our Patreon only show) was with non-other than Caspar a.k.a @gt_track_conoiseur on Instagram. We had a quick dive into what’s the real difference between a GTB a Pulse and a Kinesis, but we also took a look at the rest of his collection including his Tiemeyer lo-pro GT. A quick episode, packed with infos and shiny bikes.

Finally, let’s see what you’ve potentially missed on the SSS blog. Two bike checks this month, with Oran’s GT and my “Parakino”. Two perfect examples of common bikes but with that extra touch of spice. Especially for Orian’s GT! It always feels incredible to see the variety of builds out there and what people are able to do.

We ended this month with more of a loose vibe with a friendly reminder that sometimes you should take a break. Find yourself a forest and some beans to brew a coffee and enjoy a well-deserved cup.

One more thing…

With summer getting closer by the minute I went on a search for the funkiest shirt I could thrift out there. Upcycling stuff feels way better for some reason and I think you’re probably gonna enjoy these. Each and every one of those six shirts has been chosen by me, embroidered by me, and will be shipped by me. A truly SSS handmade product that is available right now in the shop!

Wish you guys a good weekend, and if everything goes to plan, next newsletter should be more… exotic 🌴
