March’s Recap!
Hello everyone,
I hope spring is starting to show wherever you are, along with pollen allergies, new rides, and a few good hangouts to make the most of the longer days and rising temperatures.
On the SSS side, it’s been as always quite a productive month. I’m writing this newsletter from Japan, and looking at how full my days are, I can promise there’s plenty more good stuff coming your way. I’ll be here throughout April for the sakura season, but you might also catch me at Bespoked London, if I manage to make it to my ferry.
If you’ve been busy this month and think you might have missed a few things on SSS, here’s a quick recap of everything that happened in March:
— Paul
As usual, I also want to take a moment to thank everyone who took out a membership or made a donation through Buy Me a Coffee. Thank you for keeping SSS alive!

On Slow Spin Society This Month:
So without further ado, let’s get into what happened on SSS this past month!
We wanted to offer a second perspective on the A-Frame All Track. That’s why our SSS contributor So spent a couple of months riding it, to share his take on this smooth titanium machine.
➡️ Why the A-Frame All-Track Might Be the “Final Answer”, by So
My favorite bike from Bespoked Dresden 2025. Built from a unique blend of titanium, stainless steel, and chromoly, it was a total showstopper—and it’s easy to see why.
➡️ Bike Check: Jan’s Custom Heart Breaker Light
The LOW Trinity, finally complete. David’s Track, Road, and Gravel LOWs—each part of his story, all built with taste and some of the finest components out there. A true collection of unique visions and memories.
➡️ The Bikes We Keep: David Hong’s Low Collection
The Boomboat is one of those bikes we’d all love to try, and Jorrit was lucky enough to ride a fully built prototype with some serious custom parts. If you like orange, this one’s probably for you!
➡️ Bike Check: Jorrit’s Stridsland Boom Boat Prototype
Johannes started building bikes because he couldn’t afford a cargo bike. Just a few years later, he’s already creating some of the most interesting titanium bikes I’ve seen recently—and all of it in a stunning setting.
➡️ Alonukis: Framebuilding High in the German Alps
Shooting experimental film on the racetrack is something I’d been looking forward to for a while. Even if Harman RED isn’t a new emulsion, it’s an easy recipe for creating unique images—and one that will definitely make you want to shoot more of it.
➡️ Harman RED 125 at the Rust Out Race Track
What happens when an NJS builder and an underground criterium racing team decide to collaborate on a team bike? Even if I can’t give you the full answer yet, I can take you through the hows and whys of this unique blend of racing cultures.
➡️ BSBC x Stratos: When NJS Bikes Leaves the Velodrome
And to wrap up March, my final bike check from Bespoked Dresden 2025 features this beautiful Finnbar Trout single speed—one I had to save for last. I love a good track bike, and this one definitely deserved to be seen by more people.
➡️ Bike Check: James’s Finnbar Trout Rumble Fish
Of course, every article is up and live for you to enjoy wherever you are, enjoying the calm breeze of spring or going hard on your new training program.
Collective Take:
Last month we asked what type of bike you ride the most and what kind of riding you’d like to try in the near future. As expected, most of you are riding fixed gear, with a healthy number of you either already on or planning to jump onto a gravel bike.
But fixed gear is still very much at the core of what we do and what you ride. So it got us thinking: have you checked out The Track Bike Ranking on Slow Spin Society? It’s unapologetically subjective and very much tied to my (Paul’s) personal feel for some of the bikes I’ve ridden over the years.
So here’s this month’s collective question:
Which bike would you like to see added to the track bike ranking?
Let us know!
