September’s Recap!

Time to break out the long-sleeve jersey, because oh man, it’s getting cold already! But the end of summer also brings the excitement of seeing new projects and events finally revealing more details, and I can’t wait to check some out. This October, you’ll find me in Dresden for Bespoked! See you there!

And as always, I want to thank all the new supporters on Buy Me a Coffee. If you want to keep SSS project rolling, click on that cup and support Slow Spin Society, for the price of one cappuccino a month!

So without further ado, let’s get into what happened on SSS this past month!

So is giving us a glimpse of a month spent in Japan with his friend Minh, capturing their days on Kodak Ektar 100. Riding track bikes through rainy streets, cozy cafés, and shrine alleys. Coming back to grassroots alleycat race, classic bike tinkering and even some car races.

Next up is a bike check of my Weis Hammer Gravel Ti Plus! This build was a collective effort between Weis, myself, and several other brands who helped bring it all together. It’s packed with details and thoughtful touches, definitely one you’ll want to check out.

The second update on the Compact Vision project! This time, we focused on where you’d like the frame to be manufactured. We started with two main options, but thanks to some thoughtful suggestions from the community, we’re already exploring additional possibilities.

Building your “dream bike” can be tricky. When BJ and I decided to create one with a frame builder, we went back to basics, reflecting on all the lessons he’d learned from his previous bike purchases.

Nothing like a Mash Parallax bike check to make you forget that summer is already slipping away! And this one… is extra spicy!

When BMX has been at the center of your life for the past 15 years, you’re bound to have stories. Stories of how both you and your riding have evolved over time. Conor captures this beautifully as he reflects on his journey with the bike, and how it has remained a cornerstone of his life for well over a decade.

Of course, all blog posts are up and live for you to enjoy wherever you are, at work scattering the local marketplace, or carving some early pumpkins.
