May’s Recap!
Spring is here, no doubt!
The sun is shining, the wheels are spinning, and with the great weather I’ve had pretty much everywhere I’ve been, I’m looking forward to the amazing summer ahead of us! It’s been a busy month on Slow Spin Society, and The Lockup just celebrated its first birthday! Over 200 bikes have already been uploaded, from classy builds to wild ones, offering plenty of inspiration for your next rig!
Lockup aside, here is everything that happened on Slow Spin Society this past month.
Starting with a small review of the Skream Ranger! With this year's paint refresh, the Ranger took the first step to renew its image from a purely tracklocross focus bike, to something a little more refined.

Another "Reader's Journey" this month by Conor, which you may already be familiar with in this community. Conor recorded his visit to Paris for the second installment of Love Letter Turbo.

This one is quite a lengthy read, but during my long journey back from Berlin where I assisted at RadRace's Last Woman Standing. I had ample time to reflect on why we don't have more fixed gear criteriums. Not a rant, more of an open letter on why I would love to see more unity in one of my favorite subcultures.
➡️ Fixed Gear Criteriums Have a Massive Issue. Here’s the Game Plan to Solve It 🏁
A little bike check on a sweet build I saw in Japan last winter, when the Brooklyn Gangsta Track usually gets all the love, we often forget about the Launchpad, and its relaxed geometry.
➡️ Bike Check: Shun’s Brooklyn Launch Pad 🚀
To finalize my review of the previously mentioned Skream Ranger, I was invited to Hong Kong, so I also took the opportunity to learn a bit more about filming on and off the bike. Discover the results in this article!
➡️ Ground Zero: Learning to Film in Hong Kong with Provit.hk 🇭🇰
To continue, here is Slow Spin Society's first dive into the vast world of cargo bikes, with my first impression of the MONOPOLE No O1. A tiny cargo bike that will make you understand why cargos can be so much fun.
➡️ Compact by Design, Fun by Nature: First Impressions of the MONoPOLE No O1 🛒
Final article of this month! A film review of the Shanghai Color Film 400 that I had the opportunity to shoot in… Well… Shanghai. If you like desaturated pictures this might be the one for you.

Of course, all blog posts are up and live for you to enjoy wherever you are, discovering a new country, or hauling flowers across the city.
On that note, I'd just like to extend a massive thank you to the entire Shanghai cycling community that I had the pleasure of meeting. Can't wait to go back!
