November’s Recap!

I recently realized there’s a small problem with SSS. Well… an issue for me, but a great thing for all of you! The truth is: there are too many articles lined up! Even with an increased publishing pace, the schedule is packed all the way until April, and I’ve been struggling managing a healthy balance of bike-checks, feature articles, and sponsored content. Turns out, that’s just one of the many new challenges that came with Slow Spin’s growth this year.

At least for you, it means more writing, more photos, and new stories dropping every few days. But still! I’ve also seen an increase of people wanting to submit a story or a gallery to SSS, and it makes me so happy, that some of you want to take part in the adventure. Got an idea? Email me thought the contact page.

And as always, if you enjoy what you see here on SSS you can support me by Buying Me a Coffee. Click on that cup and support Slow Spin Society, for the price of one cappuccino a month!

So without further ado, let’s get into what happened on SSS this past month!

Too cold to go out? I got you! Here are five more bike-centred films perfect for long, indoor days, including a gritty 1977 race, a deeply moving documentary, a journalistic thriller, a celebration of fixed-gear street culture, and a nostalgic, cheesy 1980s BMX drama.

After six months of nearly daily riding, it was time to reflect on the MONoPOLE: a practical, joyful companion. Nimble handling, low-maintenance drivetrain, and versatility for both urban errands and weekend trips, you can listen to all of my thoughts in this Video

In this article, I wanted to share how Bespoked Dresden felt genuinely inspiring. For bikes, of course, but also personally, and as a media. More than the bikes themselves, it was the people, the craft, and the joy of making things for fun that stayed with me.

Need a rack or a basket on your bike? Well, here is my review of the Old Man Mountain Elkhorn and Hemlock! Built for adventure, but for also so much more, these are ready for whatever trail you’ll throw at them.

This is Breezy’s super-light, custom Dahon 412 folding bike. And I was amazed by how fast and agile she is on tiny 14”″ wheels. She stripped it down to around 5 kg, upgraded key parts for portability and style, and has turned it into a forever-evolving commuter build. One of my favorite !

At this year’s Bespoked Dresden, I had that one roll… 36 exposures from heat-damaged film resulted in this faded, “washed-out” aesthetic. Despite that, I had to show these two amazing creations: a titanium gravel bike from Avalanche Cycles with a 3D-printed lug and truss fork, and a nostalgic MTB from Sour Bicycles, mixig vintage styling and modern components.

Jaegher Cycles hosted an exhibition blending art and bike craft, inviting artists to create unique finishes on their steel frames. Shown in a refined, brutalist space, this whole experience was some real eye candy, and great way to know more about Jaegher.

Of course, all blog posts are up and live for you to enjoy wherever you are, decorating your Xmas tree, or cheering at your local CX race.
