September’s Newsletter

What a month! Every time I write this newsletter, I am proud of what we’ve created, but I am always excited for what’s yet to come! This month started with none other than Olly from Wavey Wheelies. We received some insight straight out of New Zealand, the history behind his Youtube channel, and the numerous bike builds we all enjoy watching. The following week was all about Chrome Industries’ new releases for this Fall/Winter season. By collaborating with Panaracer, they created a brand new line of footwear along with the awaited comeback of their SPD compatible shoes. Matt and Josh, who were both involved in that project, gave us some behind-the-scenes Information on the conception and testing of the new Kusk.

We had some amazing comments on our last “history” episode on Major Taylor, so we decided to make another one! This time we went almost a complete century back to retrace the past of Cinelli and its founder Cino Cinelli. It’s an episode packed with information about one of the brands that - whether you like it or not - dominates the fixed-gear culture. But do you want a Cinelli for yourself, to show it off to others, or simply both? Well, this is the theme our Patrons have chosen for our last episode of this month! Some people might criticize you and your bike but elitism is part of cycling and we discussed a bit how to deal with it, but also how it is just not worth it to care.

Our top-tier patrons received the first print of the new batch this month. We selected some really nice pictures for the next few months and we’re excited to know that they might end up on your wall or your fridge.  Along with all the stickers we distributed in the SSS letters, we’re hoping to make a pack available for everyone in the near future.

As for the entirety of our patrons, they all got access to the 3 hours of extra content of our pre and aftershow. You can check it out if you want to hear Paul getting mad at the new Vigorelli for 20 minutes or Fabian enjoying his new 50 euro city bike. We enjoy making these kinds of recordings and because we know it is paid content, we tend to be more… let’s say “sharp”…

Ever heard about Bike Checks?

A lot of you tell me that bike checks are your favorite thing to read on the blog. Well, I hope you won’t regret saying that because that’s everything on the menu this month.

First, our good friend Rob got his bike checked during his short trip to Paris.  Crafted by the man himself, this one is truly something with some real character to it.  I truly admire Rob’s dedication and involvement in the FGFS community and if you like hearing him on the podcast, you should have a nice surprise soon.

Next up is my review of my new completely extra and over-the-top Mash steel. The new colorway complemented with a bunch of titanium parts was my summer fantasy and I couldn’t be happier with it. Who said retail therapy was a bad thing?

As always, thanks for listening to (and, hopefully, also enjoying) our podcast. We know that many of you are on our Discord server, but even if you’re not, we can kind of see you (in the form of numbers) but we definitely appreciate y’all! Until next time!

Paul and Fabian/SSS

Here is one last picture for this month, have a great October! 🎃
