September’s Recap!

Hello everyone,

I’ll start with this: a few weeks ago, someone told me they really enjoyed how straight-to-the-point and transparent I am in the newsletters. That alone made my day!

Thank you to everyone who came to find me at Bespoked Dresden to chat, ramble about things, or just say hello. Meeting so many of you at these events means the world to me, so if you ever see me around, even if I look busy or am running and taking pictures, please don’t hesitate to flag me down. I’ll always find a minute to talk.

The next opportunity for that is a bit further away, though: next month you’ll be able to find me at another Bespoked show, this time in Osaka. I’m looking forward to seeing some of you there!

— Paul

As usual, I also want to take a moment to thank everyone who took out a membership or made a donation through Buy Me a Coffee. Thank you for keeping SSS alive!

Our Monthly Top Picks:

MADE Bike Show!

My first MADE was an eye-opener. Walking the Zidell Yards for the first time, I realised just how interesting the American framebuilding scene was and how much ground there still is to cover as a cycling journalist. Yes, the calendar is already packed with bike-show coverage for the end of 2026. But how could I not share the creations that filled Portland that weekend?!

Bike Check: Kobayashi’s Cinelli Laser

Nothing like finding a Cinelli Laser in the wild to get pumped up about writing another bike check. Sure, they may all be a bit similar, but who wouldn’t want to see more of these?

Compact Vision #5: Create Your Gnome!

Help us design the Gnome! We’re working on visuals for our Minivelo, and we’d love to get more of you involved. If you want the Gnome to roll out of the box with your design included, check out how to make it happen in the latest article of the Compact Version series.

Bike Check: Jaewon’s BT Superbike

To close, another remarkable bike through Ryan’s lens in South Korea. This BT Super looks like nothing else, a wild silhouette with a history to match. After years away from the road, our friend Jaewon has brought it back to life.

Of course, every article is up and live for you to enjoy wherever you are, on your way back to school/work, or praying for the summer to last just a tiny bit more.
