The First T-shirt ride of 2021.

Yep, that’s right! We got some seriously nice weather this April and I’m looking forward to some late-night rides and tricks sessions as soon as the curfew is over. Regarding Slow Spin Society, April has been full of good news with an amazing guest, good analytics for the blog and the podcast, and some nice pictures to top it all off. We are still working on what we think is the best format and how to manage the amount of work for a weekly project including a podcast and an article. But in the end, we’re super proud of everything we’ve managed to do so far.

Getting stronger!

As episode 12 just rolled out, we saw the biggest audience spike we’ve ever had. 385 listeners in one day! Hard for us to wrap our minds around how insane that sounds. This month we discussed some recent-ish innovations in the cycling and fixed gear world, some tips for wheel building and what was out there on the market, as well as a more laid back and relaxed episode where Fabian and I just expressed our personal preferences regarding cycling aspects that elicit discussions and disagreements in the community. We also had the immense pleasure to have none other than Amy Danger herself! It’s a huge milestone to have guests like her on the show since Amy is so knowledgeable about the fixed gear culture and a good amount of 80-90s frames.

This April our top-tier patrons received their first montly print and stickers. I personally put a lot of work to make for the best experience possible. Nice prints, nice stickers, and a nice envelope. All our Patrons supporters have access to 3 extra hours of content this month where we just chat and share things that stood out to us this month. We are thankful for all your support as well as every email, DM, and kind words we received recently!

What's new to read?

This month has been quite the roller coaster, to be honest. I was planning to go for a few days of riding in the wild, but the weather was just not worth the four hours of train. But Paris is still full of opportunities for me to shoot some stuff. This month you can find Patrick’s Parallax bike check along with my Omnium CXC. These builds represent two really different ways to look at city riding and commuting. I also went a little bit more into detail on my film photography process and how I aim for certain colors in my shots. Finally, you’ll find an in-depth review of my Outer Shell bags and how awesome they are!

Although it may feel like we’re repeating ourselves at this point, we are very glad to see how much traction and support the Slow Spin Society Podcast and Blog are receiving from all of you! What started out as a small idea over a year ago has blossomed into a growing community of people who share one thing in common: having a blast on bikes! In any case, make sure to check out the blog and head over to the Discord to talk with us and other listeners about bikes and more! ✨

Here is one last picture for April 2021, have a good weekend, take is slow and see you in June 🌿
