Slow Spin Society, 2025 Still (Mostly) On Film…

So! As you might have noticed, the title has changed a little… And don’t worry, I have answers! But before that I want a talk about how every year, as I push myself to create the best work I can for SSS (and for myself), I can’t resist experimenting with new techniques, new film stocks, new ideas… All of which usually result in a bit of a “mixed bag” when it comes to photography. So when I look back at this year, I feel like I‘ve tried a lot of things. Not always successfully…

On top of that, even though it began in 2024, I’ve kept expanding throughout 2025 what I consider part of the SSS “Range.” This past year I published about gravel bikes, cargo bikes, mini-velos, even a few vintage MTBs. Different shapes, different purposes, but all connected by one thing: They fit in my aesthetic.

More simply put, it all comes down to one feeling: “Damn, this is awesome, I want others to see it.” I can guarantee you, there isn’t a single bike on SSS that I didn’t genuinely think looked pretty damn good before hitting publish.

As my vision of cycling expands every year, so does the way I capture it. In a release you’ll see very soon, I’ll dive into the whys and hows behind getting my hands on a digital camera, something I used for a handful of articles last year. You can find them all below: (They‘re all tagged with “SoD” , Shot On Digital.)

As you can see, it’s not much. For some pieces, the entire article was shot digitally; for others, it was just a couple of frames; and sometimes it was nothing more than the video thumbnail. The point is that experimenting across mediums and different ways of documenting cycling culture is part of this ongoing, never-ending process. And that’s probably one of my favorite bit about this whole thing.

That’s it for the photo talk, and I can’t thank you enough, all of you readers, for giving me the freedom to capture moments the way I see them. I don’t feel confined to any specific style or format, I just do my thing, and most of you seem to enjoy it.

As per tradition now, here’s a mixed bag of shots I captured throughout the year, with some you might have already seen, others that have been sitting quietly in a folder for over twelve months. Enjoy!

Let’s get weirder this year
